KATIE

Katie Kimball got her undergraduate degree in biology intending to attend medical school but that’s when things went awry. Her passion for cooking, food and new, interesting flavors took hold leading her to follow her heart elsewhere- into the kitchen. For years she dreamed about creating a community gathering place centered around food that makes people happy. A place you can run into neighbors, spend time with family or treat yourself. The answer was clearly a return to the family ice cream shop.

Katie believes that the joy of ice cream has no age limit and aims to spread that happiness one scoop at a time. She hopes that Katie’s Homemade Ice Cream is just that- a place where the shared love of ice cream brings people together for the common goal of happiness.

Most of Katie’s time is taken up working behind the scenes, creating and making superb ice cream and treats.

Whether it’ s her love of the Cape Cod Lavender Farm being the inspiration behind the Lavender Honeycomb flavor, to a particularly memorable caramel candy that became the spark for Toasted Coconut Caramel, every flavor and new treat Katie creates is centered around celebrating and recreating a happy memory using the most delicious ingredients. We can’t wait for you to visit and make your own happy memories.

• Katie was the first scooper at Katie’s Homemade Ice Cream. She worked as an ice cream scooper through high school and college.

• The company logo was inspired by Katie’s childhood cow, Hazel.

• Before getting into the ice cream business, Katie had many adventures in restaurant kitchens learning her craft. She can really work her way around a kitchen.
